Reasons Why Your SEO Efforts are Not Making You As Much As They Could

There are many reasons why you might not be maximizing your SEO efforts. Too often people focus only on their rankings, and do not pay nearly enough attention to what the users do once they get on the website. This should be the main thing that you focus on in most cases, but most individuals who practice SEO only focus on getting higher in the search engines. You really should be focusing on how you can make your website better and make the visitors that you do get, go much farther.

Reasons Why Your SEO Efforts are Not Making You As Much As They Could guest
There are a number of different things that you can do to help yourself capitalize on your visitors, including;

Create a Mailing List

The first step that you need to take if you already haven’t, is to create a mailing list. Mailing lists allow you to continually market your website or services to individuals, long after they have left your website. You can use these mailing lists to create trust with the consumer, and make sales over a longer period of time. A mailing list can also be an excellent way to increase the traffic to your website by taking one-time visitors, and turning them into visitors once again down the line. I would always recommend that you find a noninvasive way to invite users to sign-up for your mailing list. It is also a good idea to offer them something in return. One popular option as of late has been to offer them an informational piece, such as an e-book, to entice them to sign up for your mailing list. You can also offer them more tips, or more information in general about the subject that your site is about.

Mouse Watching Analytics

Another excellent method for increasing conversions, is action tracking analytics that will watch the actions that your visitors take on your websites. Most users use their mouse as a guiding point when reading. They hover over the things that they are looking at, scan the page using the mouse, and generally it can be used as a good indicator of the points of interest on your website. Knowing where your visitors first look on your website can really help you increase conversions. Also getting an idea of how their eyes scan the page can be a great help as well. Using mouse watching analytics can help you get an idea of how to better design your site to increase conversions and generally make it more navigable for your average user.

Generally, webmasters that practice SEO, could benefit greatly from spending more time analyzing what the visitors that they have are doing once they’re on the site, rather than simply just trying to get more visitors. Going from rank number five to rank number two over the course of a few days might give you more visitors, and more sales, but getting a similar profit result from increasing conversions might have been possible from rank five all along. Over time, it seems as if the focus has gone from converting more sales, to simply getting more visitors in bulk in order to increase your profitability. The focus has shifted away from creating a marketable website, or creating one that ranks highly in search engines. This might work for webmasters in the short term, but likely will not work for everyone in the long term.

    I didn’t know online mouse tracking features can be added on your website! I could see a whole new world of possibilities using this feature. There can be no other way of knowing what you should focus on other than knowing what your readers or customers would want. Thanks for sharing!

      Its a great tool, but I still believe eye-tracking can be more valuable … users like myself will not move a mouse generally until I am about to click… so using it to say someone thinks this is important doesnt always work, where as where I look can be seen as important… thoughts?
